Anyone need to hear this Word today?????

“Be still, and know that I am God!”  Psalm 46:10

On Sunday, I was deeply touched by a young girl who was real before God.  I will call her “Flora” here to protect her privacy.

After the service she asked for prayer.

As we surrounded her, she cried out to God.

She asked for prayer for some fear she is experiencing.

She confessed her sin.

She asked God to be used by Him.

She professed a heart that wants to follow hard after Him.

She is 10 years old.

Oh, that we would follow her example.

Thank you Jesus, for “Flora”.

p.s.  “Flora” is derived from a Latin word, meaning ‘flower’.

There was an interesting show on Nightline last night titled, “Does Satan Exist?”  You can link to it here:

This is all I have to say:  I challenge anyone.  Pursue a walk with the Lord, seek God with all your heart, mind and soul.  Believe me, you will find out that Satan DOES indeed exist.  But not to worry!  Jesus is faithful!

“The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.”2-Thessalonians 3:3

I’m so thankful for my freshly ground, fresh brewed, hot cup of coffee this morning!  We’ve had blizzards, floods and tornados in South Dakota this week.  What simple pleasure a hot cup of coffee on a cold morning can bring!  Thank you, Lord!

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word (no famous quotes or other literature — only the beautiful word of our Father) through photo’s & a Bible verse!

This is my grandaughter kissing her baby brother before he was born.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
   Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.   How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
      They cannot be numbered!
   I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
   And when I wake up,
      you are still with me!”
Psalm 139:13-18

“Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.”  Psalm 37:4

Anyone want the desire of their heart given to them????…..  By the Lord?

So I started contemplating about ‘delighting myself in the Lord’.  Well, that was about the easiest thing I’ve ever had to do.  Not too hard to delight in my God who loves me, who will never leave me, who will never change, will never get tired of me.  To delight in my God who is so ALL-POWERFUL and MIGHTY.  To delight in my God who is kind, and compassionate, and so, so, so, so patient.  To delight in my God whose ‘ways’ are so delightfully surprising at times.  To delight in my God who is SO WISE, and wants to share His wisdom with me as He guides me and teaches me and shows me things and reveals Himself to me, day by day.

So far, this has been really easy, this ‘delighting myself in the Lord’!

And what about His creativity?  I live in a little town on the Missouri River.  Every day, if I just ‘look’, I see beautiful sunrises, rolling hills and a winding river bordered by magnificent bluffs.  I see the sun, the moon, the stars.  I see beautiful sunsets.  I see birds and deer and pheasant and wild turkeys:  all kinds of God’s animals.

‘Delighting myself in the Lord’:  I delight in the gifts He gives.  In a devoted husband, in four incredible children and in the daughters and son in laws that I now also call my children.  And how I delight in my precious, DELIGHTFUL grandchildren.  I delight in the way my grandaughter Angel DELIGHTS in life.  I delight in the way my grandson Caleb is beginning to interact with his world.  I delight in seeing my older grandchildren begin their lives as young adults.

‘DELIGHTING MYSELF IN THE LORD’.  Oh yeah, this is easy.  This is fun.  And I’m reminded of God’s promise.  If I delight myself in the Lord, He will give me the desires of my heart.

You know what?  I think the desire of my heart is to ‘delight myself in the Lord’.  I could do this forever!!!!
